Now as an artist you're expected to supply digital files for submission. The days of submitting 35mm slides are over. The digital requirements can be confusing unless you're skilled and experienced in all aspects of digital imaging from camera capture, color management workflow, to carefully resizing and optimizing the final digital file.
When photographing 2-D drawings and paintings, I use a special lighting technique that features polarized light combined with a high resolution digital camera. The digital files are carefully processed using special imaging software. The resulting digital files have extremely accurate color and detail. Then the high resolution file is re-sized and optimized into 3 additional file sizes and placed into separate folders for specific uses.
Sculpture, jewelry, and art installations require not only skillful lighting, but also special attention to each individual artists interpretation of their art piece.

Digital Portfolio Folders
Master
This is the largest retouched file that all other files are derived from.
They are Tiff files aprox 35-40mb in size.
The color–space is Adobe RGB.
Prints
These files are optimized for 4x6 – 8x10 prints.
They are jpeg files aprox 500k in size.
Color-space is sRGB.
Art Shows & Digital Projection
These files are square with black mats suitable for the new digital projection specifications.
They are jpeg files 1920 pixels x 1920 pixels and aprox 1.8mb in size.
Color-space is sRGB.
Web-Social Media
These files are optimized for facebook, the web, and email attachment.
They are jpeg files 600 pixels in size and aprox 100k.
Color-space is sRGB.
